The aim chat name is noisychat. If you do not see it then it may not be up and running, but the mods will try to have it up in the evening on the weekends (maybe just one day, maybe all three, we'll have to see how it goes). It is a good place to get to know your fellow players, pitch ideas for plots or general mayhem, and let people know when you've posted a comment.

If enough people want it I will add it, however, please use aim instead of e-mail as often as possible to contact each other (since it is faster and much more reliable). If you want your nickname to be different than what you put in your app, just comment here or contact a mod via aim and we'll change it.

Also, what would be a good time for us to start up an aim chat room? If a mod can keep it active (or at least recreate it with the same name often) then it can be a place for players to meet up and discuss potential plots. Plus many players have asked if we can have a big one to kick things off. So now we need a time and a name.

Game Mechanics

This is a primarily third person game. Posts are to be made in the main community (immortal_noise) with the place and time (relative or specific) in the subject. Characters can comment to that post to interact with each other in threads. If a serious thread is going on, please ask permission from the characters (via aim if you can since it is fastest) before entering it. Multiple threads can go on independently of each other in the same location but please try to be aware of who else is in your location and what they are doing (if a big fight breaks out, you might need to know).

Character journals (or specifically labeled posts in your personal journal if you want to use that for the game) can be used for first person posts. These posts are like your character's journal/diary. They can not be accessed by anyone else. You as players are free to read anyone's journal posts, but your characters can not.

The other use for character journals is sending letters. You can post your letter to any other character in your journal and then post a short notice on the main community saying that you have mailed something to the recipient. Please mark you letters as "LETTER TO (name of character)" so that they can be easily distinguished.

All ooc (out of character) comments should be posted in the (noisy_ooc) community.

Rules

Please read these rules before you apply or at the very least before you start playing.

1 - This is a low-stress rp, please be nice to all your fellow players and do not cause any drama. By this I mean don’t fight with each other. If your characters fight each time they see each other and it’s still very in character, that’s fine. But any real conflicts between players, well I hope you can work it out on your own. If not then please at least do not take your drama into the game.

2 – Ask permission before you do something huge. Do you play Ladd and want to track down and fight Claire? Fun stuff. But ask Claire’s player first. You never know, they may have something else in mind for the day. Want to bring in some major baddie or have an important character kidnapped? Cool. But (and I can not stress this enough) ASK THE MODS FIRST! We’re nice, accommodating people, I’m sure we can either grant your request or find a good alternative for you.

3 – STAY IN CHARACTER! As in any game, ic is the way to be. If we catch you being ooc (out of character) then one of the mods will kindly point this out to you and ask you to fix it. If you can’t keep ic then maybe it would be better for you to let someone else have your character and find another person to play who matches your personality better. We don’t want to upset anyone, but we also don’t want to see any ooc going on. (after all, Lua yelling at a whimpering Ladd while Maiza and Ennis sing cheesy love songs on stage would just break everyone’s brain and we don’t want that)

4 – Please play out your rp via lj and not aim. You can plan things with each other and chat while posting, stuff like that is highly encouraged, but for your actual posts please write them up in lj posts and comments. If you have any questions about this you can contact a mod.

5 – No godmoding!!! Allow me to explain this one; do not take control of another person’s character. If they are thinking something but not saying it then you don’t know what they are thinking. If your character and another character are in danger, you do not have permission to just pick them up and run away with them. You need to talk with your fellow players to make this game an enjoyable experience for everyone. Also, we don’t care if you ARE Claire Stanfield, certain rules of physics do apply to you. You are not the worlds strongest man and you can not fly. Nor are you Jesus. Sorry Claire.

6 – The mod’s word is law. Someone’s got to take responsibility for this game, and we’re it. We work hard to try and make everything run smoothly and sometimes some people are going to get answers they don’t like. We’re sorry, truly, but that’s the way it’s got to be. That doesn’t mean we are not reasonable people. We will do our best to work with you on any issue you bring to us till we reach a conclusion that makes everyone happy.

7 - Use appropriate icons. Since you can use your personal lj to post, please use an icon featuring your character to post. That way we won't get confused by things like a naruto icon on an Eve post or anything like that. If you want to make a new lj to have multiple icons for your character (displaying different emotions or fighting or dancing or whatever) then more power to ya.

8 – Have fun! This is the most important rule.

RP Sample:
Czeslaw was in no way normal. He knew that. Most of the time it didn’t both him that much. In his opinion, he was pretty sane for someone who’d been ten years old for two hundred and twenty years. Still, there were just some situations that brought it all to light. Like the one he found himself in now. The fact that he was staying with people he’d only just met was odd enough. He never dreamed he’d be staying with other immortals of his own free will like this ever again. But Maiza trusted them and they did seem nice.

He hadn’t been able to sleep well at all. The Rail Tracer still chased him in his dreams and too often that blood covered face was replaced with another one he wished he could forget. So, unwilling to face the dreams, he wandered an unfamiliar house at night. That’s how he’d found himself in this situation; in a relative stranger’s kitchen at three in the morning trying to sneak a cookie. Definitely not normal.
(Just a sample post. It can be anything you want it to be and it is just to show us that yes you have a mastery of the English language and--MOST IMPORTANTLY--of your character.)

Anything Else: Czeslaw is crazy, I admit it, and way too smart for anyone’s own good. But he can be won over with kindness (and sweets). I think everyone knows most of his info. He’s close to Maiza and will be very close to Firo and Ennis given a bit of time. (Who is your character close to/who do you want to see in this RP that isn't? What do they like? Anything that didn’t show up in the anime but you know about from the novels? Want to give us a history or personality write-up? This would be very helpful for everyone if your character is from the novels.)

Randomness: I’m a long time rp-er with quite a few years of experience, I’ll gladly chat with anyone via aim when I am on (which is late at night) I enjoy both cuteness and utter doom in equal portions and the world should be grateful that I’m playing Czes and not Claire since I have a fondness for violence. (and 3-4 AM is when all the best random crazyness happens! aka Pumpernickel time! Yaaaay~!) (Anything that you want to say that doesn’t fit anywhere else. This is the post where you can view the application and fill one out. Just a few notes:

1) Your applications will be posted here, in a screened reply. Don't send them to our e-mail or think you'll get priority if you do. We'll laugh and destroy it.
2) If you have questions, please leave them separate from your application and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Whenever that may be.
3) Obviously, first come first serve, but only if you have the better app. And we're picky.
4) Make sure you've read all the rules and understand them before you post your app. We also STRONGLY advise you take a gander at the sample application we have provided for you. If you haven't, we will know. Oh, yes we will.
